Following on from yesterday’s post, Transcendental Meditation vs Just Sitting, I watched a film called David Wants to Fly. It is a documentary which follows German film maker David Sieveking as he follows the advice of his hero David Lynch and learns Transcendental Meditation.
It is an interesting insight into the billion-dollar industry behind the Transcendental Meditation movement. It’s also interesting how David Lynch was initially very friendly towards David Sieveking, but later on in the film, once he starts asking some awkward questions, Lynch no longer wants to speak to him. After all, nobody likes having their beliefs questioned. That’s part of being human. It turns out that not even Transcendental Meditation can stop you from being human.
